Hatched Family Day
ABOUT THE EVENT
Get creative with the whole family at PICA’s Hatched Family Day!
Book your spot in these free, hands-on workshops led by artists. Come to one or both!
Explore the ancient art of Chinese calligraphy—at a new scale. Using oversized brushes and full-body movement, this hands-on workshop with Hatched artist, Grace Yong, blends tradition with experimentation. You’re invited to play with mark-making and create bold, expressive artworks that celebrate culture and language. No experience needed—just curiosity and a willingness to get inky!
Move. Listen. Make art with the world around you. Tune into the environment by using your body and natural objects as instruments in a creative workshop guided by Hatched artist, Elsa Mona. Compose a group soundscape using simple looping tools that capture and repeat sounds made during moments of connection. This unforgettable sensory experience is perfect for young artists, nature lovers and noisemakers!
