State Theatre Centre

Perth’s newest arts venue, the State Theatre Centre, will once again throw its doors open for public tours on O Day.

This state-of-the-art facility was opened to great acclaim last month with a gala performance in the 575 seat Heath Ledger Theatre.  Don’t miss your chance to see inside this impressive theatre, the 234 seat flexible Studio Underground and a multi-purpose outdoor events space The Courtyard, all of which will soon host an exciting program of artistic performances.

To continue your cultural journey on O Day, explore one of the many free exhibitions at the various Perth Cultural Centre institutions or take a sneak peek inside the glamorous SpiegeltentChoose from three exhibitions at PICA showcasing the works of local, interstate and international artists or two quirky exhibitions at the WA Museum, Femme Fatale and Shell Shocked.

Over at the State Library, visit Vite Italiane, an exhibition exploring the lives of Italian migrants in Western Australia or wander into The Place for Children and Families. The annual Year 12 Perspectives is on display at the Art Gallery of WA, showcasing the best TEE artworks from across the State. There is nothing normal about this art collection!

Home to Perth’s Fringe World festival, the glamorous Spiegeltent is sitting in the Urban Orchard and will be showing off its 1920’s grandeur. The program for this festival is not to be missed with many brilliant comedy and cabaret performances and tickets averaging around $25.
