The completion of short-term revitalisation works in the Perth Cultural Centre was unveiled on Sunday at a community planting day in an innovative new urban orchard, located opposite the Art Gallery of Western Australia.
Planning Minister John Day joined community groups, schools and arts and cultural organisations to put the finishing touches on the new and improved public space in the heart of the city.
“The State Government, through East Perth Redevelopment Authority, has invested $11million into the Perth Cultural Centre precinct, including William Street, to make the area safer, livelier and more appealing for the community and visitors to the city,” Mr Day said.
