The Perth Cultural Centre brings free live blues, baroque and beats every weekend
Let's be friends
The chilled out rhythm and blues of local outfit Neo will be the first free musical offering in the Perth Cultural Centre this Friday night, 19 February.
The Perth Cultural Centre’s diverse music program will bring sounds to the public space on Friday and Saturday evenings throughout February and March from 5pm until 7pm.
EPRA acting CEO Sean Henriques said free music events are another way that EPRA is revitalising the area and transforming it into a lively place for people to enjoy and not just pass through.
“Following on from the success of St Jerome’s Laneway Festival, sponsored by EPRA, the Perth Cultural will once again play host to fantastic music,” Mr Henriques said.
“The idea behind the music program and calendar of events is to make the Perth Cultural Centre the place to go and meet friends, listen to music and start off the weekend.”
“The Perth International Arts Festival’s (PIAF) water installation Appearing Rooms in front of PICA has already proven to be a popular attraction for children and adults alike. I encourage families to stay for the music after their fun in the water.”
Neo’s Friday night performance will be followed on Saturday evening by one of Perth’s most respected singer songwriter’s Natalie Gillespie.
Natalie is described as a singer songwriter whose beautiful songs take you on a journey many miles deep.
The music continues the following week with jazz swing outfit the Julia Jenkins Trio on Friday night and 2che’s acoustic soul will fill the space on Saturday night.
“I encourage people to rediscover the Perth Cultural Centre and keep visiting the area to see it transform as the works progress,” Mr Henriques said.
