A major event for the Mercedes-Benz Car Club of WA is the annual Display Day, held at the Perth Cultural Centre in the spring. This is probably the biggest event in that the activity not only showcases members' vehicles, but is an opportunity to promote the club and the marque as a whole. There will be music, displays and plenty to see, all in the vibrant heart of the city.
This year, the event coincides with the 60th anniversary year of the SL sports car. The SL used to be known as a sports luxury car, although
many sedan vehicles can go faster. The SL stands for “super light”, a reference to the use of lightweight body mouldings, engine design and fittings.
