Minaxi May (Lead Artist), AWESOME (Producer) and hundreds of amazing young people from regional/remote WA

AWESOME’s Creative Challenge program visits regional and remote communities every year and engages young people in creative play and story telling with artists-in-residence. 2012 focused on a REMIX theme, challenging notions of trash and treasure in exploring the possibilities for old materials and traditions to be repurposed into new uses. The REMIX exhibition invites you to discover ‘remixed’ identities and expressions from twelve communities as captured by the artists and young people who live there.

Guided tours by the lead artist, Minaxi May, are being run from Monday the 8th to Friday 12th at 11am and 1pm daily. No bookings required. Meet Minaxi outside the front of the REMIX exhibition at Gallery Central. Young people can also participate in free ‘remix’ activities during the school holidays.
