In the tradition of organ trios such as those of Larry Young, Jimmy Smith and Larry Gouldings, Perth group “ TLC” captures the sound of the 60’s with a modern approach.  This group features three of the finest musicians in Australia today, including Tom O’Halloran (organ), Freddie Grigson (guitar) and Chris Tarr (drums).

Although the members had worked with each other on previous occasions and performed individually with other their own groups it was felt that this particular membership would create an exciting combination and the group was formed in early 2011.

This dynamic trio have come together to write and perform their compositions which make up the majority of the groups repertoire.   Ranging from hard swinging shuffles and standards to original compositions with a contemporary sound the group is constantly evolving. T (Tom) L (Freddie, AKA Lawrence) and C Chris are forging new ground with the sound of the organ trio and with their virtuosity.

On Friday nights AGWA will feature an array of cultural delights from 5.30pm, Friday 22 June. Come discover some of the most influential modernists of the 20th Century in an exciting new way. You can enjoy casual drinks in our Manhattan Bar, inspiring artwork, a Literary Links tour and a live performance from some of WA’s most talented Jazz musicians.
