Saturday July 28 marks the beginning of National Blood Donor Week 2012, which pays tribute to all donors across the nation who have contributed to the 1.35 million life-saving blood, plasma and platelet donations across Australia.
During National Blood Donor Week the Australian Red Cross Blood Service says thank you to all donors for never failing to roll up their sleeves and donate.
To help say thank you, there will be an installation in the Urban Orchard which will recognise the many thousands of donors who generously donate blood to patients in need. For the many cancer patients, trauma victims and renal dialysis patients, donors are true Australian heroes.
