Additional lighting installed on the trees and buildings and security measures to add to the safety and visual appeal of the area
-
Adding landscaping and furniture that invites people to stay a while and enjoy the space
-
The creation of retail pods housing café style vendors, adding to the vibrancy of the area and attracting people to the space
-
A coordinated events and sponsorship program to attract the best events for people of all ages and interests
-
Aesthetic improvements like bright banners and entry statements to help visitors find their way around
A second stage of revitalisation works in the Perth Cultural Centre were completed in October 2011. New additions include the installation of a large LED screen, a children's play space in front of the WA Museum and new feature lighting on trees and building. A new Museum Street Park has also been created between the new Central Institute of Technology building and the state heritage listed St John’s Church on Aberdeen Street.
The next stage of place planning initiatives for the PCC space include a Master Plan for the area. It will leverage work completed to date and identify medium and long-term improvement strategies.
MRA has also been responsible for the $6 million revitalisation of William Street which will support the improvements to the Cultural Centre and Northbridge as a whole.
