The Project
Let's be friends
The Perth Cultural Centre is one of the largest, most commercially important and strategically located inner-city precincts next to essential public transport infrastructure, yet for so many years it has been neglected.
Revitalisation is long overdue but it's important to get it right. The project to breathe new life into the Centre is the result of extensive engagement with a wide range of stakeholders who are connected to the area.
The former EPRA - now the MRA - commissioned internationally renowned organisation Project for Public Spaces to guide the stakeholder engagement and inspire creative and innovative ideas. A Consultant Team with expertise in landscaping, engineering, technical services, marketing, events and security interpreted stakeholder ideas into practical outcomes.
Longer term changes being considered include utility upgrades and better pedestrian access.
The next stage of place planning initiatives for the Perth Cultural Centre space include a Master Plan for the area, which will leverage work completed to date and identify medium and long-term improvement strategies.
